Riyoko Ikeda - Japanese manga artist
 

Riyoko Ikeda (born 1947) is a Japanese manga (comics) artist. She was born in Osaka.

She has written many shoujo manga, that is, comics targeted to girls. Many of her manga are based on historical events, such as the French Revolution or the Russian Revolution.

Her most famous manga is Berusaiyu no bara (The Rose of Versailles). This manga, loosely based on the French Revolution, was made into a Takarazuka musical and into animated films.
