Netsuke - old form of Japanese art

Broadly, Netsuke is an old form of Japanese art, and describes small, intricately carved figures which used to function as a means of attaching items to a kimono.

These figures are now prized both as ancient art objects and collectors items, or in modern production are valued for their cultural meaning.
