Yoko Nagayama (長山洋子; born
January 13,
1968) is an
Enka singer in Japan.
She was born in
Tokyo. She started her life as a pop music singer in 1984. Her first
song was "Haru wa SA-RA SA-RA". But this was a minor hit. The cover
version "Venus" brought success to her in 1986. The next song "You're My
Love" was also a hit.
In 1993,she started the second life. That is, she began to sing
Enka, a kind of melodramatic Japanese popular song. She received three
prizes for the first song "Higurashi". "Suterarete" was also her famous
song.
In 2003,new song "Jonkara Onnnabushi" was released. On TV or in her
concert, She is singing this song with
shamisen.
