YKK Group - Group of Japanese manufacturing companies
 

The YKK Group is a Japanese group of manufacturing companies. The company was founded in 1934 by Tadao Yoshida in Higashi Nihonbashi, Tokyo. Originally known as Yoshida Kogyo Kabushiki Kaisha. Famous for making zip fasteners (known as zips in the UJ, or zippers in the USA). It was renamed to Yoshida Kogyo K.K. in 1945 and to YKK in 1994. The term YKK was first registered as a trademark in 1946.
