Tabi - type of Japanese sock

The tabi (足袋) sock is a type of Japanese sock that splits the big toe from the rest of the toes, thus allowing the wearer to also wear zori (tatami sandals with a separation between the big toe and the other toes).

There is also a stronger boot version of the tabi that is worn by construction workers and ninja due to its ability to grip the floor better.
