Yomi - Japanese for underworld, Hades or Hell
 

The Japanese word for underworld, like Hades or Hell, Yomi is most commonly known for Izanami retreating there after her death. Izanagi followed her there and upon his return he washed himself, thus creating Amaterasu, Susanowo and Tsukiyomi. (See Japanese mythology) Yomi is after the crash with Buddhism also the place of the Buddhist hells in Japan, like Kakuri which is ruled by Emma-o.
