Any detailed information about the daily life of daughters of the ruling class during Iemitsu Tokugawa's reign is appreciated. What activities, conversations, hobbies were pursued by girls 8 to 16?
Also, I'd love to hear more about Sankin Kotai during the third Shogun's reign. And I am seeking clarity about tenpou. I have seen tenpou defined as "daimyo alternating fiefdoms every other year." It is particularly baffling because my understanding is the Shogun allocated various plots and locations of land according to who he liked best.
In addition, I am hoping to discover information about the daimyo in Hokkaido during Iemitsu's reign.
Last but not least, ukiyoe. Does ukiyoe refer to the seeking of the floating island of pleasure/art/entertainment in Edo as well as the isolationist policy of Iemitsu Tokugawa?
