Hi,

Can anyone please guide me about what is relation between kana and kanji chracters.

1)Can all the kanji characters be formed using the existing kana chracters? Are there any of the kanji chracters which do not have a phonetic representation of kana chracters?

2)Can you please guide as to where exactly I can find the kanji chracters standardised by the JIS(Japanese Industrial Syandards) along with their kana representations?

bye,

Hiragana and Katakana comprise the sounds of Japanese. They are simply two different ways to represent the same sounds. They are syllabaries, not an alphabet, and as such represent the standardized sounds of Japanese without exception. Kanji have been adapted from Chinese, and as such, have been made to fit with the Japanese syllabary. Every Japanese Kanji is pronounced using the syllabary, and as such, there is no Kanji that can have a pronuncation that does not come from the 48 syllabic sounds represented by the two kanas (there are of course some Chinese kanji that are not used in Japanese).

That's the official JIS website. It should have what you're looking for. If not, I don't have a list on hand. Some one else might.
