How good's the psp?

hello eveyone im new but i want to know how good the psp(playstation portable) is. i want one really bad and it looks great:smile:

In my understanding its technically equivalent to PS2, unlike the display ofcourse.
It should be most advanced portable console in the market.

I think you can watch DVDs from it too. I'm interested about the quality.
Those "portable DVD players" are so waste of money since their image quality is beyond my tolerance
