■A History of Modern Crafts --- From the Museum Collection
The tour 'Touch and Talk' explores the theme of a history from Modern Crafts in Japan, highlighting metalwork. Metal forging has been employed by artists around the world for thousands of years. The talk will feature selected works from traditional-esque crafts creating a large following 'Japonism' in the Meiji Period to craft as artistic expression in the present. Before the talk, we will offer the opportunity to the participants to take a closer look at works by some renowned artists, viewing the material and techniques in the 'Touch' corner.
*This programs is offered without any additional charge to all the visitors with tickets for the permanent exhibition (Adult:200yen).
*No reservation required.
