I am a student at Oxford University and will be coming to Japan for a month starting from March 13. I was planning on climbing mount fuji but understand that the season is only from July to August. Will it still be possible for me to climb?

It's possible, I believe, as I have heard stories of people climbing on New Years Eve to witness the first sunrise of the year. It's pretty dangerous though.

Yes, I suppose the danger is the slippery mountain. I'm interested to climb in March though. I recommend to get some protection to your knees and elbows.

the danger won't just be the slippery mountain...expect snow and sub-zero temperatures, as it is usually 0 degrees in July or August. It's not really a case of dressing right, you need to be professional.

But here in Finland we are used to snow and few weeks ago it was -30. Once I have experienced -39C.. :)
