Hi,
I rescently came back from Japan and there are a lot of things that I miss. I am looking for a way to order things from Japan, either through an intermediary or from a company that ships to the US. I have found a lot of websites for media (CD, DVD, Books) but I am looking for clothing and or food and or notebooks and things like that. I miss UNIQLO and Muji the most. If you are aware of any intermediary organization or anything, please let me know.

Glad you enjoyed the trip. I'll help you find a few things from Japan. There's a ton of Japan stuff out there but here are a few trusted sources I like.

For clothing and household goods I like J-life at http://www.jlifeinternational.com/. They're committed to supplying authentic Japanese goods and they have some stuff you just won't find elsewhere. I've never personally bought anything from them but have known the management on an email basis for years and always liked their selection.

For food... Go to Amazon.com. I wish a single Japanese company would take supplying Japanese food to the US seriously via the internet, but none have yet that I know of. Just search Amazon for Japanese food (http://www.amazon.com/gp/browse.html/ref=sc_bb_br_3370831_53/102-2939007-5490549?%5Fencoding=UTF8&node=3602931&no=3370831&me=ATVPDKIKX0DER) and you'll find lots.

There are a series of books I want to get, I know they're on Amazon's Japan site. Problem for me is that I can't translate the site so I hesitate to buy because I might get the wrong ones. Is there somewhere I can go to get the info translated, or someone through whom I can purchase them?

Go to the Amazon page where the books are and copy the ISBN number. Then search English Amazon for that ISBN. If that doesn't work search everywhere for that ISBN. Unless it's pretty obscure you can probably find an English page that sells the book somewhere.

If you're still in the search this other place sells almost anything from Japan, but have to be imported,it's based Japanese territory: http://en.rakuten.co.jp/, the translation is bad,but understandable and the prices are really tempting in at least some articles I browsed.
