I would like to proppose a thread for the discussion of various philosophical questions, the discussion of Zen paradoxes, and the debate of philosophical principles.
To start the discussion on this subject rolling, might I propse the following principle, first mentioned by a good Japanese female friend of mine, when we were discussing the roles of NAgasaki and Hiroshiman in Japanese history and their impact on the Japanese national psyche and political direction:
We only regret when there is something we could have done that we did not do.
I would be interested in considerations as to the wider applications of a philosophical principle such as this, and indeed also in discussion as to the priniple's deeper meaning.
Best Regards,
Aiki-Mei.
