Latest Japanese Craze?

Foreign media love to blow things out of proportion regarding Japan's oddities. Calling something Japan's latest craze makes it sound like everybody is doing it.
Anyway apparently the latest craze in Japan is to dress up as a vending machine to avoid being mugged according to 9MSN.
