Asakusa - Tokyo District
Asakusa distict of Tokyo

Asakusa is the part of Tokyo famous for the Sensoji temple. Many tourists, both Japanese and from abroad, visit the Sensoji temple every year. The area still has many traditional shops and eating places and the road leading to the temple itself is lined with small shops selling touristy things like small gifts and traditional sweets.

Also nearby across the river is the distinctive Asahi building modeled after a flame. Known to some Japanese colloquially as "unchi biru" due to its shape. River cruises depart from a wharf immediately opposite the Asahi building, on the Asakusa side.
