Chubu Region of Japan

Chubu (Chubu-chiho) is the central region of Honshu, Japan's main island. It is located between Kanto and Kansai, and includes the major city of Nagoya as well as long Pacific and Sea of Japan coastlines, extensive mountain resorts, and Mount Fuji.

The region consists of the following prefectures: Aichi, Fukui, Gifu, Ishikawa, Nagano, Niigata, Shizuoka, Toyama, and Yamanashi. Chubu has two major sub-regions: Tokai region in coastal area of the Pacific Ocean and Hokuriku region in that of the Sea of Japan.
