July 24,
1999,
All Nippon Airways Flight 61, which was flying from
Tokyo International Airport in
Tokyo,
Japan to Chitose, was hijacked shortly after takeoff. The hijacker
killed the pilot before he was subdued. The
Boeing 747 landed safely.
