Sangokushi, the native
transliteration of a term, Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms
is a
Japanese computer and
video game, a series of turn-based
computerized wargames by
Koei. Nine editions in the series have been published in Japan.
The game is based on the historical events of the
Romance of the Three Kingdoms and the
Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms in China during the
2nd and
3rd centuries.
Eight English editions of Romance of Three Kingdoms (ROTK)
have been released.
Only editions VII and VIII were compounded with
RPG aspects whereas the player can only control the ruler in other
editions.
