Sonic Advance 2 - released for the Game Boy Advance
 

Sonic Advance 2 is a video game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series that was released for the Game Boy Advance.

The game was released in Japan on December 19, 2002. It was released in North America on March 10, 2003 and it was released in Europe on March 18, 2003.

The game's engine was modified from that of its prequel.

In order to get to the special stages, one must collect all five special rings in a stage. If one passes the stage, the character gets a Chaos Emerald. Unlike the game's prequel, emeralds are not shared between characters.

Characters

  • Sonic the Hedgehog is playable from the start.
  • Cream the Rabbit and her Chao, Cheese are playable after Leaf Forest is completed.
  • Tails is playable after Music Plant is completed.
  • Knuckles the Echidna is playable after Sky Canyon is completed.
  • Amy Rose is playable after all of the other characters get all seven Chaos Emeralds and the game must be cleared on all four of those characters.

  • Leaf Forest
    • Boss:Egghammer Tank II - 1st battle has Cream the Rabbit in its grasp
  • Hot Crater
    • Boss:Egg Bomber Tank
  • Music Plant
    • Boss:Egg Totem - 1st battle has Tails tied up and hoisted from the machine
  • Ice Paradise
    • Boss:Aero Egg
  • Sky Canyon
    • Boss:Egg Saucer - Knuckles the Echidna pilots this during the 1st battle, subsequent battles have Eggman pilot this.
  • Techno Base
    • Boss:Egg-go-round
  • Egg Utopia
    • Boss:Egg Frog
  • XX, 1 act
    • Bosses:Weakened versions of all of the above, then the Egg Bot.
  • True Area 53, 1 act
    • Only playable as Sonic after he collects all 7 Chaos Emeralds, and after the game is cleared with Sonic, Cream, Tails, and Knuckles.
